Traffic
Traffic: three words decide the search, and none of them is card
The query is a relationship, an occasion and a tone: funny birthday card for a brother, first anniversary card for my wife, sympathy card for the loss of a father. That is a very large matrix and it is where all the demand sits, yet most card sites organise by occasion alone and leave relationship and tone to an unindexable filter. Building the crossings that have real demand behind them, each with genuine copy about what suits that person and that moment, is the whole traffic strategy. Underneath it, individual designs need enough distinct text to be worth indexing rather than a repeated paragraph across two thousand near-identical pages.
