Wellness ecommerce marketing agency

Health and wellness stores sell products that every ad platform, regulator and shopper reads with suspicion first and trust second. Growth here depends on saying only what the label is allowed to say, keeping listings eligible under Google's healthcare policies and Meta's health rules, and turning a first bottle or a first device into a subscription or a second order. We do that work inside the store, across search, feeds, paid media, the product page and the retention system.

What is different here

The first thing that changes in wellness is the sentence a store is allowed to write. In the United States a supplement can carry a structure and function claim with the FDA disclaimer beside it, but not a claim to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a disease. In Canada a natural health product needs a Natural Product Number before it is sold, and the claims come from the licence rather than from the marketing team. Devices such as braces, hearing aids and compression garments carry their own classifications and their own cleared uses. Every product description, feed title, ad headline and email subject line has to fit inside those lines, and the substantiation for anything stronger has to exist before the sentence is published, not after a policy reviewer asks for it.

Paid channels apply a second filter on top of the regulator. Google's healthcare and medicines policy keeps a list of unapproved substances that cannot be advertised at all, restricts some over-the-counter categories by country, and requires certification for online pharmacies and for the narrow set of CBD products it accepts. Meta's health and wellness rules block before-and-after imagery and any ad that implies the viewer has a condition, and Meta now limits which website events a domain it classifies as health and wellness can share for optimization. The practical result is that wellness brands run ads with less data and less latitude than a furniture brand, and the creative, the feed and the tracking all have to be built with that in mind.

Retention is where the economics of this industry are decided. A 30-count bottle sets a reorder date the day it ships, a protein tub runs out on a calculable schedule, and a hearing aid buyer comes back for domes and wax guards for years. Subscribe-and-save is the default offer, but a subscription sold on the first visit and cancelled in month three costs more than it earns. We time the flows to the pack size, place the subscription offer once the first product has had a chance to work, and report active subscribers, churn by cohort and replenishment rate as their own lines rather than folding them into revenue.

Trust in wellness is proved by documents rather than by adjectives: a certificate of analysis for each batch, a third-party testing seal, a strain list, a clinical reference for a specific ingredient, a sizing chart that matches the measurement a shopper takes at home. The niche pages below set out how each category earns that trust and where it makes money. A CBD brand acquiring through organic search and affiliates has almost nothing in common with a sports nutrition brand running flavour bundles on Shopping, and a hearing aid store selling a four-figure device to an adult child runs a different funnel again.

  • Two regulators and two ad reviewers read every sentence

The label claim, the feed description, the ad and the email are read by the regulator and by the platform policy team, and the strictest reader wins. We write to the narrowest reading and keep the substantiation where a reviewer can find it.

  • Some channels are closed, so the mix is different

CBD, sexual wellness and parts of men's health cannot lean on Meta and Shopping the way other categories can. Organic search, email, SMS where carriers allow it, affiliates and referral carry a larger share of acquisition, and the plan reflects that from day one.

  • The pack size is the retention calendar

Capsule counts, servings per tub and consumable accessories tell you when the next order is due. Replenishment flows, subscription placement and reorder reminders are timed to that calendar rather than to a monthly send schedule.

  • Proof documents convert where copy cannot

Third-party test results, certificates of analysis, device classifications and clinical references are the content that ranks, gets cited by assistants and turns a sceptical shopper into a buyer. Putting them on the page in plain text is the core of the work.

Which health and wellness niches does CartKernel work with?

Supplements, sports nutrition, vitamins, CBD and hemp, sleep products, recovery and mobility devices, women's health, men's health, sexual wellness, direct-to-consumer hearing aids, compression and orthopedic supports, functional mushrooms, probiotics and blue-light eyewear, all sold online to consumers in Canada and the United States. Each has its own page below with the search demand, policy limits, feed rules and retention cycle that apply to it.

What can a wellness store say about its products without a substantiated claim?

It can describe what is in the product, the form and dose, how to take it, who it is designed for and the testing behind it. In the US a supplement can also carry a structure and function statement with the FDA disclaimer. What it cannot do is name a disease, promise a result or use before-and-after framing. We write every page and ad to that line and hold documentation for anything stronger.

Why did our Meta campaigns lose purchase data, and can it be recovered?

Meta restricts which events a domain it has classified as health and wellness can share, and lower-funnel events such as purchase are the ones most often blocked. The classification and the restricted events are visible in Events Manager. We check the category, appeal it where the products do not fit, and rebuild optimization around the events that remain, with server-side data where Meta permits it.

How do you report subscription revenue for a supplement or device brand?

As its own set of lines: new subscribers, active subscribers, churn by cohort month, average subscription length, one-time versus subscription revenue, and replenishment rate for products sold without a subscription. Ad spend is attributed to the first order and the subscription value is reported separately, so you can see whether a channel is buying customers who stay or customers who cancel.

Do the rules differ for a wellness brand selling into both Canada and the United States?

Yes, and the store has to carry both. Canadian natural health products need a licence and a Natural Product Number, with claims that match the licence; US supplements follow the structure and function framework with the FDA disclaimer. CBD is regulated under the Cannabis Act in Canada and cannot be sold like a supplement there. We map the catalog by market and keep the page copy, feed and ads consistent with each one.
