Traffic
Traffic: material and purpose queries, and the price-per-pair comparison
Sock search is functional. People type the material and the job (merino hiking socks, bamboo socks for sweaty feet, cotton dress socks), the fit problem (no-show socks that do not slip, socks for wide calves) and the pack (dress socks six pack men). Brand comes later, if at all. Most sock stores are organized by colour and pattern, which is how the brand thinks and not how the buyer searches. The traffic lever is a catalog structured by material, purpose and fit with real copy, pack pages that rank for the pack query with the price per pair stated, and guides that answer the questions asked before a drawer refresh: sizing from a shoe size, merino against synthetic, how to keep no-shows up. Those pages bring in the buyer who has never heard of the brand.
